Supporting and contributing to
the communities that we operate in

The Medich Corporation is a family owned business, and we believe in sharing our success by supporting and contributing to the communities that our projects and investments operate in.

We have established The Medich Foundation to provide more structure to the Medich Corporation’s work in the community and our support of specific not-for-profit organisations.

Roy Medich has been especially involved in community work over many decades, and his efforts were recognised with a Medal of the Order of Australia for services to the community through fundraising in 1999. His current community commitments include serving on the following boards:

  • Salvation Army Advisory Board for Greater Western Sydney
  • Deputy Chair of Regional Development Australia – Greater Sydney
  • Chairman of the Medich Foundation

Roy also has a particular interest in health and medical research, and as a member of a number of boards and foundations in this area has fundraised many millions of dollars for specific research causes. He was also involved in the creation of the Ingham Medical Research Institute for South Western Sydney.

In addition, just a few of Roy’s previous activities include:

  • University of Western Sydney Foundation Board
  • Penrith Valley Economic Development Board – Penrith Business Alliance
  • Liverpool Hospitals Greenway fundraising committee
  • Liverpool Police and Citizens Youth Club
  • The Growthpoint Project, transferring services of the Spastic Centre to Sydney’s west
  • NSW Cancer Council Colorectal Working Group
  • South Western Sydney Bowel Cancer Foundation
  • Board member of the South Western Sydney Area Health Service
  • Board of Trustees of the University of Western Sydney
  • Chairman of Regional Development Organisation
  • Greater Western Sydney Economic Development Board

The UWS Roy Medich Bachelor of Medical Research Scholarship supports students undertaking medical research studies in Sydney’s west.

Anthony Medich has a strong interest in Arts and is a Foundation Governor of the Art Gallery of NSW as well as a member of the Museum of Contemporary Art Foundation Council.

The Medich Foundation is providing ongoing support to the St Vincent’s Hospital, and Anthony personally sits on the St Vincent’s Curran Foundation Life Ball committee which raises funds for St Vincent’s hospital. In 2016 guests raised over $2.3 million to fund life- saving equipment purchases in St Vincent’s Intensive Care Unit.

During Anthony Medich‘s time as General Manager of Norton Plaza he became heavily involved in the local community. In 2008 his efforts were recognised with The Medich Property Group being presented the Ludwig Leichhardt Award for Exceptional services to Leichhardt  by the Mayor of Leichhardt.

Anthony was actively involved in the Leichhardt Chamber of Commerce serving on the executive committee for a number of years and the sub committees responsible for delivering the Norton Street Festa, and the annual charity fundraising dinner. Additionally, Anthony formed the Italian Connection Rally between Norton Street and Lygon Street for the dual purpose of raising money for charity and promoting Norton Street. Further he helped to create the Leichhardt Promotional Working Group, a partnership between local businesses and the Leichhardt Council. It developed and implemented a marketing and multi-media campaign for Norton Street.

In his time at Norton Plaza Anthony raised significant money for many charities, including The Cancer Council, Kokoda Track Foundation, Co.As.It., Salvation Army, and Just Enough Faith Foundation. Along with the tenants and management team of Norton Plaza, he also donated his time to the Just Enough Faith Foundation cause feeding the homeless.
